Hull Bottom Cleaning For boat owners, having a hull cleaning service means higher performance, more pleasure and fewer worries. We believe you shouldn't pay extra on gas or sacrifice your boating performance because your boat hull is not well maintained. The relatively warm water and many days of sunlight that boaters enjoy produce an abundance of marine growth on boat hulls and underwater structures. This growth can occur very rapidly, especially on surfaces unprotected by effective antifouling coatings, and can cause a variety of problems: Increased drag and weight on the vessel, resulting in greater fuel consumption, slower speed and lower RPM, all costing more to operate your vessel. A reduction in flow or total blockage of the water intakes for engine cooling, generators, and bait tanks. Concealment of defects in the paint, damage to the hull, or corrosion on the metal parts of the boat. Our experience has shown that the most effective hull cleaning cycle for a hull with good antifouling paint is every 4 weeks. MDS divers use best management practices in boat hull cleaning. This means that our effort is to extend the life of the bottom paint to the maximum, and enable the anti-fouling quality of the paint to be most effective.
